| Comments: | I joined the 9th in 1974. I was 17 at the time. When I joined the Division the Vietnam War was over, but I met many Viet Vets still in the 9th. I was trained by these Vietnam Vets. The 9th was at Ft Lewis the three years I was with it. I am currently a 1SG in the Field Artillery (1/144th F.A. 40th Inf Div, Calif Army National Guard)and have been in the Military since I joined in 1974. I would love to hear from any "old reliables" out there.. |

| Comments: | My dad did his boot camp at Fort Bragg NC as of Feb. 10, 1941. Landed at Safi, French Morocco on Nov. 8, 1942. Fought in Morocco, Tunisia, and Sicily under Patton. Landed on Utah Beach June 10, 1944. Fought through France, Belgium, The Ardennes (Battle of the Bulge) and then mustered out August 13, 1945. I happen to have his copies of the "Historical and Pictorial Review" of the 47th Infantry-9th Division "Yearbook" from Fort Bragg, NC and also "Eight Stars To Victory". Would sure like to hear from any WWII vets that might have known him. |

| Comments: | My great uncle served with the Ninth in WWII, he died in 1970 before I could find out anything about him. His name was Lawrence Chute, and he was from Nova Scotia, Canada. After the war he lived in NYC and drove a taxicab. I would appreciate any info if there is anything available. My grandfather was his last living relative(to my knowledge) and died last year. | Comments: | Went to Nam on a ship with 9th Div. Did the landing thing and went on up to Bear Cat. From there to Dong Tam. Drove truck for ammo dump, then became Sgt. and ran ammo dump. Went Riverine for 3 months on the Mekong River supplying ammo. Interested in talking to anyone in 3/47 HHC. I was the tall skinny 6'6' guy. It's been a long time. Happy vet's day today! |

HAD TO CHANGE THE NUMBER ON OLD 123 TRACK TO 44, WAS AT FSPB RITA AND QUAN LOI, LAI KHE. |

Riley in 5/66. we trained and left as a division for Nam by ship The Geiger 1/6/67 and landed at Vungtau and went to Bearcat and built base camp. Then went to Dong Tam in 7/67 derose 1/9/68. we were getting hit each night in 12/67 and 1/68. What happened to to Dong Tam and Bear Cat from 1/9/68 on? Tet Offensive? when was camp turned over to ARVNS? Were we ever overrun ? Any KIA's for 1/84th after I left? I was Spec 4, crypo clerk for battalion. Thanks John Wilson |
