Doddington Website: Referred by: Just Surfed On In! From: Randallstown, MD Time: 1998-12-08 14:34:22 Comments: God bless our country's veterans!!! I am a 33 yr old collector of military memorabelia and an avid history buff. I sometimes attend veterans reunions as a guest and bring my colection along for display purposes. My pride and joy is my collection of WW2 dress uniforms ( Ike jackets and 4 pocket garrison coats). I would like to get one from every division, corps, army, and air force that served in the war. That makes for around 150 uniforms but I'm already well on the way with 52 (complete w/ all patches, ribbons,...). I have a beautiful 9th div. uniform that even came with the soldiers duffel bag. It belonged to Ulrich Juneau. I got this at a gun show years ago. I also have quite a collection of German stuff as well. I also collect items from the Civil War era. My collection of Viet Nam era stuff is not as extensive yet but I'm not rich enough to have everything I want. Only BIll Gates is!!! To all the Viet Nam vets out there WELCOME HOME!!! Hold your heads high for you fought the good fight and did everything expected of you and more. Your Medal of Honor section attests to that. Veterans have been my heroes since I was a kid. I admire you all very much. Andrew Doddington Randallstown, Md (410) 521-0563 or e-mail at guns.corsets@cwix.com . (The corsets bit is for my wife. She is also fascinated with the Civil War era). |

I served with guys from A,E and HQ companies, 3rd Bn., 60th Infantry ("the Wild Ones") and the MRF in Dong Tam, RVN between 12/66 and 12/67. Before that I was at Ft. Riley, Kansas from June to Nov. 66 where the 9th Div was recommissioned. Prior to that, I took basic and AIT at Ft. Ord from 1/66 to 6/66. Attended the 87 reunion of the 3/60th in Colorado Springs, but have not heard from anyone who was there since. Have there been more reunions, or will there be? Had a nice 97 Veterans Day chat with Ernie Kurre, and this year with Tony Paciello and Jack Bowman (all of whom I served with in Riley and Nam). They still all live in NY. Email me if you want their addresses / phone numbers. I wonder if there are any 50 year old + "wild ones" that remember me. If so..drop me a line. God Bless! |

My name is Chris Mueller and I am trying to find out some information for my dad. He was in the 9th infantry division, Company A, 2nd Battalion, 60th infantry. I am trying to find info about a mission in late April or early May of 1970. The mission was into Cambodia and his company was hit bad and they were accompanied by a mortar company also. Thinks that this occurred around same time as Kent State incident or Apollo 13 incident also. Not real sure about this though. He knows for sure that at least one first Sgt was killed in this mission also. Thought this would help as generally they weren't in the field? He is looking for casualty list, names of anyone there, and/or number of wounded or KIA. The mission did not have a name though and they were not by any city or geographic landmark to distinguish it specifically! Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Chris Mueller. |
