I was one of those who put the war behind me, and my memories are still buried and causing me some problems. Too much free time in my old age. I went by Cisco too. I dont' need stressors validated or anything like that, just blanked a lot out and would like to fill in the blanks. I wasn't homeless, I just lived outdoors for a number of years. Comments: Great site! Been here before. I'm back for info help. I'm from D Troop 3/5th Cavalry. Our Aero Rifle Platoon was called the Doughboys. Their casualties are listed with those of the 9th Inf. Div. I'm trying to find the names of 6 KIAs for our memorial Page. On 20 April'68 elements from the 3-39th Inf and D Troop kicked a bunch of ass in the vic of My Le XS7566 they knocked down 17 members of the VC 315 LF Company. The Rach Kein District Chief Was killed that day. 2 days later, on the 22 of April, our Doughboys walked into "L" SHAPED Ambush set by approximately 3 squads of enemy troops. The first Doughboy Squad in contact had 100% casualties with 6 KIA. I searched the WALL for that day and the Long An province and found 8 KIAs from the 9th Div. They are: SSG Chifos, SP5 Dains, SP4 Booker, SP4 Morales, CPL Walls, CPL Wolfe, PFC Booker, PFC Sprouse, The 5Bn 60th Inf took APCs to the rescue. 2-3 and 4-39th were night airmobile inserted into the area. I'd sure like to hear more about that operation, "TOAN THANG DENVER/AKRON" Regards and thanks, Don Callison - WARWAGON 14, AEROSCOUT

Comments: I started out in the Central Highlands on Camp Holloway with the 52nd CAB. I filled in as a doorgunner and we operated in the Kontum / Dak To area. After several months I was sent to Bearcat and assigned to D troop 3/5 Cav. I extended my tour to get a 6 month drop and ETS'ed at the end of May 69. Hey I have been hunting around the National Archives for a long time trying to track down something. Do you , or anyone else , know who had operational control of Long Than North. We used to pull guard duty there in 68. I had it several times and one of the times everyone in a nearby bunker over was killed because they went to sleep and a sapper got them. In 67 the 9th had control but they released it. I can find out what happened on Bearcat , aka Camp Martin Cox, by checking the divisional records of the 9th but no mention of what was going on over at Long Than North. Does anyone have any ideas ?

Comments: Served with "B" Battery 2/4th Arty. from Nov. 67 through Sept 68. For most of the time I was attached to either "Bandido Charley" or "Battling Brovo" 5/60th as a "Recon Sgt." I would be delighted to hear from anyone who shared the Binh Phouc experiance. I would also like to find out who "Mason Eight Niner" was. On the night of February 24th 1968, he was a "FAC" who spent the entire night orbiting "Fire Support Base Yeager" calling in both Arty and Air Strikes as we were being overrun. By morning he could hardly talk because of all the shouting over the radio that went on. I have always felt that he really helped save our bacon that night. If anyone out there knows who this guy was I would appreciate it if you would give me an "UP" and let me know. Thanks and WELCOME HOME!
