locate any bro's who were there with me. I remember an incident on Nov. 9th
on Toy San Island on a Sat I think. When we went the same path taking us
into a tree line, where there was a buried mortar shell that I stepped on.
My throat was cut and almost died. I am here now to say Hi to everyone and
hope they are fine. In a pic taken of Co. C I received later was finally

His company walked back from Yakima to Fort Lewis during that time. If anyone else was on the walk, epecially from 2nd platoon, Charlie Company, he would like to hear from you. |

| Comments: | I served in the HHC in Fort Riley from Jan 1966 until we deployed to Vietnam via the train and later by boat out of Oakland on the Barret troop carrier. I was stationed at Bearcat until DROS in Nov 1967. I served as the company clerk for the HHC 9th. My CO was Cpt David Etherington. Me Exec was Lt Colclasure. Later it was Lt Wysocki who liked to strum the ukelale and get smashed. Sgt Troxel was the creative supply sgt that could get you anything in Saigon. Be had some of the best LBJ BBQ's on base. Not even the smell of the burning shit could derail our bbq. I would like to hear from some of the guys that served with me during that time. Sgt Bradshaw was our mess Sgt in charge. Regards. |

| Comments: | I spent 2 weeks or so at the Old Reliable academy at Bearcat, then spent my first day in the field on the beginning of the TET offensive. Spent only one night with my unit at Bearcat, then march ordered to Dong Tam. Spent almost 9 months in the field at FSB Fels and Moore,and a short assignment to the mobile riverine, but that was preferable to Dong Tam. Best Wishes to all that served in the 9th.
